Gayle was educated at Oundle School, before completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol and an MPhil at Oxford University. She has over ten years of experience working in the independent sector and currently works as Assistant Head at Wetherby Prep. In this role she oversees admissions (7+, 8+ and Occasional Places) and she is also responsible for providing families with bespoke advice regarding future schools choices at both 11+ and 13+, as well as preparing pupils for senior school assessments (including the ISEB pre-test) and conducting practice interviews. She also oversees the 13+ scholarship programme and has particular expertise in this area, as well as being able to advise on bursary options and applications.
Crucially, Gayle has a unique understanding of the admissions process from both a preparatory and senior school perspective. During her time working at Hampton School, she was closely involved with 11+ and 13+ admissions and so developed valuable insight into the senior school assessment and decision-making process. Gayle is also a governor at a primary school in South London, where she is the link governor for curriculum and assessment, and so has a detailed understanding of the curriculum in the maintained sector and how this aligns with 11+ and 13+ expectations in both private and grammar schools.
