Emma graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2005 with an MChem in Chemistry, where she won several prizes, including “Best Overall Chemistry Student” and a prestigious Salters’ Graduate Prize (awarded to the top five chemists in the UK). She then went on to study for a PhD at the University of Manchester, where she won a Marie Curie Fellowship.
Following this, Emma started her career as an Editor for high-impact factor chemistry journals before becoming a Medical Writer and Editor, where she was involved in clinical trial documentation and submissions. She later changed careers into teaching and has over 10 years of classroom experience, including being Head of A Level Chemistry, Head of Chemistry, and Assistant Director of Sixth Form at an Outstanding School and Sixth Form.
Emma currently works as a Freelance Medical Editor, an online tutor (Chemistry A Level and GCSE), and a UK UCAS Application Consultant. She can offer advice and support on the whole application process, including university choices, UCAT preparation, strategic applications, non-academic factors such as work experience and volunteer work, and interview preparation. Emma’s approach is extremely friendly and supportive, and she tailors each session to the individual needs of the student. She provides detailed, specific feedback and advice to help each student to make the right choices for them.
