For over 5 years, Alex has supported students to achieve their goals - whether they be receiving quality university offers for courses that the student fits well with; or supporting students to achieve the required high scores in their studied subjects (KS4, KS5, and university support). Early on, he loves to uncover students' specific areas of interest and passions to enable them to discover the best versions of themselves and show this off authentically in their applications. But to complement this, he also stresses the importance of developing genuine subject expertise and (where relevant) admissions test or interview technique. Alex's approach has yielded a strong track record of success, with students receiving offers - and ultimately taking up places! - in a range of top institutions: Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, and more.
Alex graduated with a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University in 2016, where he specialised in Politics and Economics but enjoyed studying all three. Since then, he has been putting these skills to work in the UK Civil Service as an Economist and Policy Analyst on a range of policy areas, from environmental sustainability to free trade to welfare policy. Alongside this career in government, though, he has pursued a range of teaching and tutoring: working with individual students or larger classes from both the UK and overseas! He loves this work, finding great purpose in supporting people to achieve their potential and enjoying the process of teaching students - as well as learning from them too.
